Dividend Reinvestment Calculator

Dividend Reinvestment: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers initial investment (currency). Stub page while the tool and its worked example are prepared.

Dividend Reinvestment Calculator is a planned calculator in the finance section of Super Calculator, covering dividends.

What this calculator will compute

Inputs: initial investment (currency), share price (currency), dividend yield (%), dividend growth (%), price growth (%), years, tax rate (%) and account type.

Outputs: final value (currency), shares accumulated, cumulative dividends (currency) and income in the final year (currency).

Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Each dividend buys additional shares at the then prevailing price, so share count compounds: S_(t+1) = S_t * (1 + d_t/P_t), with dividend growth and price growth modeled separately. Fractional share support and tax on reinvested dividends in a taxable account both change the result materially.
