Complex Number Calculator

Complex Number: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers complex operands in rectangular or polar form, operation and root index. Stub page. Not published yet.

Complex Number Calculator is a planned calculator in the mathematics section of Super Calculator, covering linear algebra.

What this calculator will compute

Inputs: complex operands in rectangular or polar form, operation, root index and angle unit.

Outputs: result in rectangular and polar form, modulus, argument, conjugate, all nth roots and Argand position.

Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Rectangular arithmetic on a + bi with i^2 = -1; division multiplies by the conjugate. Polar form r(cos theta + i sin theta) = r e^(i theta) with r = sqrt(a^2 + b^2) and theta = atan2(b, a). De Moivre’s theorem gives powers and the n distinct nth roots.
