Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Volume equals area times thickness for a slab, or cross section times length for a footing, or pi times radius squared times height for a column, plus a wastage allowance of about 5% to 10%. Bag count equals volume divided by the yield per bag, which is a manufacturer figure well below the bag mass divided by concrete density.
