Cycling Speed From Power Calculator

Cycling Speed From Power: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers power (W). Stub page: the tool, its formula and a worked example are not published yet.

Cycling Speed From Power Calculator is a planned calculator in the health section of Super Calculator, covering fitness and performance.

What this calculator will compute

Inputs: power (W), total mass (kg), CdA (m2), rolling resistance coefficient, gradient (%) and air density (kg/m3).

Outputs: speed (km/h), time for a given distance and power split across resistances.

Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Solves the steady-state power balance P = (Crr * m * g * v) + (0.5 * rho * CdA * v^3) + (m * g * grade * v), all divided by drivetrain efficiency, for velocity v by numerical root finding.
