Outputs: decking boards (n), joists (n), posts and footings (n), fasteners (n) and cost (currency).
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Board count equals deck width divided by (board width plus gap), rounded up, times the number of rows along the length; joist count equals span divided by joist spacing plus one. Joist spacing is limited by the span table for the timber grade and the load class, which is a code requirement rather than a preference.
