Doppler Effect Calculator
Doppler Effect: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers emitted frequency. Stub page: the tool, its formula and a worked example are not published yet.
Doppler Effect Calculator is a planned calculator in the science section of Super Calculator, covering physics: waves and oscillations.
What this calculator will compute
Inputs: emitted frequency, source velocity, observer velocity, wave speed in the medium and wave type.
Outputs: observed frequency, frequency shift, wavelength shift, redshift or blueshift z and approach and recession values.
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: For sound, f’ = f (v + vo)/(v - vs), with observer velocity positive toward the source and source velocity positive toward the observer. For light, the relativistic form f’ = f sqrt((1 - beta)/(1 + beta)) applies, since there is no medium.
