What this calculator will compute
Inputs: units inspected, defects found, opportunities per unit and shift convention.
Outputs: DPMO, DPU, yield (%), rolled throughput yield and sigma level.
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: DPMO = (defects / (units * opportunities per unit)) * 1,000,000. Sigma level from the inverse normal of the yield, conventionally with the 1.5 sigma long-term shift added, which is why 3.4 DPMO is labeled six sigma rather than 0.002 DPMO.
