Franking Credit And Dividend Imputation Calculator

Franking Credit And Dividend Imputation: a planned Super Calculator tool. Stub page: the tool, its formula and a worked example are not published yet.

Franking Credit And Dividend Imputation Calculator is a planned calculator in the finance section of Super Calculator, covering dividends.

What this calculator will compute

Inputs: dividend received (AUD), franking percentage (%), company tax rate (%), personal marginal rate (%) and other income (AUD).

Outputs: franking credit (AUD), grossed up dividend (AUD), tax payable or refund (AUD) and effective after tax yield (%).

Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: A franked dividend carries a credit for company tax already paid, so the shareholder grosses up the dividend by the credit, applies the personal marginal rate, and offsets the credit, with excess credits refundable in Australia. New Zealand operates a comparable imputation system without full refundability.
