Golden Ratio Calculator

Golden Ratio: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers total length or one segment. Stub page: the tool, its formula and a worked example are not published yet.

Golden Ratio Calculator is a planned calculator in the mathematics section of Super Calculator, covering geometry and trigonometry.

What this calculator will compute

Inputs: total length or one segment and which segment is known.

Outputs: longer segment, shorter segment, ratio verification, golden rectangle dimensions and golden angle.

Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: phi = (1 + sqrt(5))/2, approximately 1.6180339887. Dividing a length so that the whole is to the larger part as the larger is to the smaller gives a = (a+b)/phi. The ratio of consecutive Fibonacci numbers converges to phi.
