Heat Pump Running Cost And COP Calculator
Heat Pump Running Cost And COP: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers annual heat demand (kWh). Stub page while the tool and its worked example are prepared.
Heat Pump Running Cost And COP Calculator is a planned calculator in the technology section of Super Calculator, covering crypto mining and energy.
What this calculator will compute
Inputs: annual heat demand (kWh), seasonal performance factor (n), electricity tariff (currency/kWh), comparison fuel and price (currency/kWh) and boiler efficiency (%).
Outputs: electricity used (kWh), annual running cost (currency), cost versus gas or oil (currency) and break-even SPF (n).
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Delivered heat equals electrical input times the coefficient of performance, which falls as the source-to-sink temperature difference rises. Seasonal performance factor rather than nameplate COP determines annual cost, and running cost equals annual heat demand divided by seasonal performance factor times the electricity tariff.
