Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Composite rate combines a fixed rate that persists for the life of the bond with a semiannual inflation rate, as fixed + 2 * inflation + (fixed * inflation), applied to a value that cannot fall below the previous value. Early redemption within a defined period forfeits several months of interest.
