Jet Lag Adjustment Calculator

Jet Lag Adjustment: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers origin zone (IANA id). Stub page: the tool, its formula and a worked example are not published yet.

Jet Lag Adjustment Calculator is a planned calculator in the transport section of Super Calculator, covering vehicles and transport.

What this calculator will compute

Inputs: origin zone (IANA id), destination zone (IANA id), direction (label), departure time (datetime) and usual sleep schedule (time range).

Outputs: zones crossed (n), estimated adjustment days (d), suggested light exposure window (time range) and suggested sleep shift schedule (table).

Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Circadian resynchronization is commonly modeled at roughly one time zone per day, faster westbound than eastbound because the free-running circadian period exceeds 24 hours. The rate is an approximation from chronobiology literature and varies widely between individuals.
