Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Ordinary least squares: slope b = sum((x - xbar)(y - ybar)) / sum((x - xbar)^2), intercept a = ybar - b * xbar. Standard errors from the residual mean square; significance of the slope from t = b / SE(b) with df = n - 2.
