Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Solves n from the annuity equation, n = -ln(1 - P*i/PMT) / ln(1+i). The equation has no solution when the payment does not cover the periodic interest, and the calculator must detect that and report that the balance never amortizes.
