Mann Whitney U Test Calculator
Mann Whitney U Test: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers two independent data groups. Stub page while the tool and its worked example are prepared.
Mann Whitney U Test Calculator is a planned calculator in the mathematics section of Super Calculator, covering statistics and probability.
What this calculator will compute
Inputs: two independent data groups, alpha, tail selection and exact or normal approximation.
Outputs: U statistic, z, p value, rank sums and rank biserial effect size.
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Rank all observations jointly, then U1 = n1*n2 + n1(n1+1)/2 - R1 and U = min(U1, U2). For small samples use the exact null distribution; for larger samples use z = (U - n1n2/2) / sqrt(n1n2(n1+n2+1)/12) with a tie correction to the variance.
