Modulo Calculator
Modulo: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers dividend a and modulus n. Stub page: the tool, its formula and a worked example are not published yet.
Modulo Calculator is a planned calculator in the mathematics section of Super Calculator, covering algebra and number theory.
What this calculator will compute
Inputs: dividend a, modulus n, convention and exponent for modular power.
Outputs: remainder, quotient, result under both sign conventions and modular power.
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: a mod n is the remainder of Euclidean division. Languages disagree on the sign for negative operands: the mathematical convention gives a nonnegative result, while JavaScript, C and Java return a result carrying the sign of the dividend. Modular exponentiation uses square and multiply.
