Mortgage Note Yield Calculator

Mortgage Note Yield: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers note balance (currency), note rate (%) and remaining term (months). Stub page. Not published yet.

Mortgage Note Yield Calculator is a planned calculator in the finance section of Super Calculator, covering other lending.

What this calculator will compute

Inputs: note balance (currency), note rate (%), remaining term (months), purchase price (currency), balloon (currency) and payments purchased.

Outputs: yield to maturity (%), discount (currency), present value of the strip (currency) and price for a target yield (currency).

Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Yield to the note buyer = IRR of the purchase price against the remaining payment stream and any balloon, so buying a note at a discount raises the yield above the note rate. Partial purchases of a payment strip are valued as the present value of the purchased periods only.
