What this calculator will compute
Inputs: loan amount (currency), accrual rate (%), minimum payment (currency), payment increase cap (%), negative amortization cap (%) and recast schedule.
Outputs: balance path (currency), month cap is breached, recast payment (currency) and total capitalized interest (currency).
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: When the payment is below accrued interest, the shortfall capitalizes: balance_t = balance_{t-1} * (1+i) - payment. Recast is triggered by a negative amortization cap expressed as a percentage of the original balance or by a scheduled recast date, whichever comes first.
