PaO2/FiO2 Ratio and ARDS Severity: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers PaO2 or SpO2 and FiO2. Stub page while the tool and its worked example are prepared.

PaO2/FiO2 Ratio and ARDS Severity Calculator is a planned calculator in the health section of Super Calculator, covering clinical dosing and scores.

What this calculator will compute

Inputs: PaO2 or SpO2, FiO2, PEEP and altitude.

Outputs: P/F ratio, S/F ratio and Berlin severity category.

Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: P/F ratio = PaO2 in mmHg / FiO2 as a fraction, with the Berlin definition classifying acute respiratory distress syndrome as mild at 200 to 300, moderate at 100 to 200 and severe at 100 or below, all at a PEEP of at least 5 cmH2O. The SpO2/FiO2 ratio is a non-invasive surrogate.
