Pool Chemical Dosing Calculator

Pool Chemical Dosing: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers pool volume (l or gal) and current and target free chlorine (ppm). Stub page. Not published yet.

Pool Chemical Dosing Calculator is a planned calculator in the home and energy section of Super Calculator, covering home and garden.

What this calculator will compute

Inputs: pool volume (l or gal), current and target free chlorine (ppm), current and target pH (n), total alkalinity (ppm), cyanuric acid (ppm) and product strength (%).

Outputs: chlorine dose (g or oz), acid or base dose (ml or oz), alkalinity adjustment (g), stabilizer dose (g) and warnings (label).

Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Dose mass equals pool volume times the desired concentration change divided by the product strength. Chlorine demand also depends on cyanuric acid concentration, which shifts the effective free chlorine required, and pH adjustment depends on total alkalinity as a buffer, so single-variable dosing is incorrect.
