What this calculator will compute
Inputs: value (n), source unit (label), target unit (label) and horsepower definition (label).
Outputs: converted value (n), all horsepower definitions (table) and factor (n).
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Mechanical horsepower is 745.6999 watts, metric horsepower (PS) is 735.49875 watts, and boiler horsepower is different again. A vehicle quoted at 200 PS is not 200 hp, which is a roughly 1.4% difference that matters in specification comparison.
