Inputs: future value (currency), discount rate per period (%), number of periods and payment per period (currency).
Outputs: present value (currency).
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: PV = FV / (1 + i)^n for a lump sum, and PV = PMT * (1 - (1 + i)^-n)/i for a level annuity. The discount rate is the input the reader most often gets wrong, and the page must say what rate to use.
