Rainwater Harvesting Yield Calculator
Rainwater Harvesting Yield: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers roof area (m2 or sq ft). Stub page while the tool and its worked example are prepared.
Rainwater Harvesting Yield Calculator is a planned calculator in the home and energy section of Super Calculator, covering home and garden.
What this calculator will compute
Inputs: roof area (m2 or sq ft), annual rainfall (mm or in), runoff coefficient (n), daily demand (l) and tank size (l).
Outputs: annual yield (l or gal), demand met (%), recommended tank size (l), overflow volume (l) and water bill saving (currency).
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Annual yield in liters equals roof plan area in square meters times annual rainfall in millimeters times the runoff coefficient (about 0.8 to 0.9 for a hard roof) times filter efficiency. Tank sizing is a storage simulation against monthly rainfall and demand, not a single multiplication.
