Rice And Grain Water Ratio Calculator

Rice And Grain Water Ratio: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers grain type (label). Stub page while the tool and its worked example are prepared. Scope is.

Rice And Grain Water Ratio Calculator is a planned calculator in the food and drink section of Super Calculator, covering food and drink.

What this calculator will compute

Inputs: grain type (label), grain quantity (g or cups), cooking method (label) and desired texture (label).

Outputs: water quantity (ml or cups), cook time (min), yield (g or cups) and ratio used (n).

Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Absorption method water volume equals grain volume times a variety-specific ratio, roughly 1.5 to 2 for long grain rice and higher for brown rice, adjusted downward for a pressure cooker where evaporation loss is near zero. The ratio is not linear at very small or very large batch sizes because surface evaporation does not scale with volume.
