Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Round half up is the school convention; round half to even (banker’s rounding) is the IEEE 754 default and eliminates the upward bias of repeated half-up rounding. Also supports floor, ceiling, truncation and rounding to a specified multiple.
