Short Circuit Current Calculator
Short Circuit Current: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers transformer kVA and impedance (%). Stub page while the tool and its worked example are prepared.
Short Circuit Current Calculator is a planned calculator in the engineering section of Super Calculator, covering electrical engineering.
What this calculator will compute
Inputs: transformer kVA and impedance (%), secondary voltage, conductor size, material and length, number of parallel sets, motor contribution and standard.
Outputs: available fault current at each point, required interrupting rating, arc flash incident energy input data and let-through current.
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Available fault current at a transformer secondary = full load current divided by the per unit impedance. The point to point method adds conductor impedance downstream: I_fault = I_source/(1 + f) with f = 1.732 L I/(C n V) for three phase. IEC 60909 uses a voltage factor c and separate initial and peak values.
