Singular Value Decomposition Calculator
Singular Value Decomposition: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers matrix of any shape. Stub page while the tool and its worked example are prepared.
Singular Value Decomposition Calculator is a planned calculator in the mathematics section of Super Calculator, covering linear algebra.
What this calculator will compute
Inputs: matrix of any shape, numerical rank tolerance and truncation rank (optional).
Outputs: U, singular values, V, condition number, numerical rank, pseudo-inverse and low-rank approximation error.
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: A = U S V’, where the singular values are the square roots of the eigenvalues of A’A. Computed by Golub-Reinsch bidiagonalization followed by an implicit QR iteration. The condition number is the ratio of largest to smallest singular value, and the rank is the count of singular values above a numerical tolerance.
