Stair Rise And Run Calculator is a planned calculator in the home and energy section of Super Calculator, covering home and garden.
What this calculator will compute
Inputs: total rise (mm or in), target riser (mm or in), tread depth (mm or in), headroom (mm) and jurisdiction code (label).
Outputs: riser count (n), actual riser (mm or in), total run (mm or in), stringer length (mm) and code compliance flags (label).
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Riser count equals total rise divided by the target riser height, rounded to an integer; actual riser equals total rise divided by that count. Building codes cap maximum riser and minimum tread, and the traditional rule of thumb sets two risers plus one tread at about 610 to 640 millimeters.
