Subnet And CIDR Calculator
Subnet And CIDR: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers IP address and prefix length or subnet mask. Stub page while the tool and its worked example are.
Subnet And CIDR Calculator is a planned calculator in the technology section of Super Calculator, covering computer science and technical.
What this calculator will compute
Inputs: IP address, prefix length or subnet mask, desired subnet count or hosts per subnet and IP version.
Outputs: network and broadcast addresses, usable host range, host count, wildcard mask, subnet list for a split, supernet aggregation and binary representation.
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: For an IPv4 prefix of length p, the block holds 2^(32-p) addresses, of which 2^(32-p) - 2 are usable hosts for p no greater than 30, with the network and broadcast addresses reserved. RFC 3021 permits /31 point to point links with two usable addresses. IPv6 reserves no addresses and RFC 4291 sets a /64 interface identifier boundary.
