Temperature Converter
Temperature: a planned Super Calculator tool. Covers value (n) and source scale (label). Stub page while the tool and its worked example are prepared.
Temperature Converter is a planned calculator in the conversions section of Super Calculator, covering unit conversion.
What this calculator will compute
Inputs: value (n), source scale (label), target scale (label) and value type (absolute/difference).
Outputs: converted value (n), all scales (table) and formula shown (text).
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Temperature conversion is affine, not multiplicative: Celsius to Fahrenheit is C times 9/5 plus 32, and Kelvin is C plus 273.15. A temperature difference converts multiplicatively without the offset, which is why a rise of 10 degrees Celsius is a rise of 18 degrees Fahrenheit rather than 50.
