Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: HSD = q_crit(alpha, k, df_error) * sqrt(MS_within / n) for balanced groups; the Tukey-Kramer variant uses sqrt((MS_within/2) * (1/n_i + 1/n_j)) for unequal group sizes. Critical values come from the studentized range distribution.
