VAT Calculator is a planned calculator in the tax section of Super Calculator, covering consumption tax.
What this calculator will compute
Inputs: amount (currency), VAT rate (%), direction (add/remove) and country.
Outputs: net amount (currency), VAT amount (currency) and gross amount (currency).
Formula, recorded as scope and not yet verified against a primary source: Adds VAT as net times the rate, or extracts it as gross times rate divided by one plus rate. The extraction direction is the one users get wrong, since subtracting the rate from a gross figure understates the net.
Status
